The Limits of Butterfly Magic

Coincidence? I think not!!

Coincidences are not magic. We simply lack context for the building blocks behind events.

Events are interconnected even if they feel random. We’re living in the present, but the present is established by the past.

It’s like the butterfly effect where small actions can have big, unpredictable consequences over time.

For instance, I’ve been seeing a ton of references to the Bob Newhart show in the last few days.

Only today, I learned Bob Newhart died July 18th. So it makes sense that people would be referencing the show of a person who recently died, even if they didn’t necessarily mention that he recently died.

That was a pivotal piece of information which made everything click into place for me. When the world confuses us, we need to gain clarity or shift perspective to realize that it isn’t all some crazy conspiracy.

However, irrational and illogical circumstances happen. There’s a lot humans don’t understand. Sometimes there really is a conspiracy. You can chase coincidences and try to explain them all your whole life, but you’ll never become omniscient.

So you gotta pick your battles for what is worth getting the real scoop on. As much as the modern world wants us to be, we can’t be fully educated about most things.

The point is: even if we don’t know the cause and effect, it’s still there. Things rarely happen out of absolutely nowhere.
